For the 10th year anniversary of Yohji Yamamoto’s fashion brand Y-3, Brussels agency Via Eugenie extended an invitation to concept something spectacular for their Spring 2013 New York Fashion Week runway show.
The result was a 120-foot long, faceted video wall illuminated with dynamic 3D projection mapping. Vibrant color, pattern and 3D lighting created a cutting-edge context for this future-forward fashion brand.
The paneled projection wall was constructed from over 600 pyramids made from milled foam board. Video projection across this long surface was accomplished with eight video projectors and digitally mapped with three D3 Media servers.
The content design was synchronized to the style and timing of the fast-paced runway show.
The installation also became an ambient experiential backdrop for the Y-3 NY Fashion Week after-party. Additional animation and content design was provided by collaborators Sean Capone and Ben Sheppee.
